From the simple play to take some pictures of my favourite persons and places, the photography quickly became (thanks to my Master Scott Mac Cleay) my trade, an esthetic way of living, a manner of enjoying, and testing the time which flies. Thus, through the photo-reportages, the daily life was transformed into event, I discovered some new horizons, and my glance remains dazzled. My photographic work is divided between reportage, portrait and architecture. After the first Artist’s workshops exposed at the American Center, my photographs of « Cafés Littéraires », hanged up at the Georges Pompidou Center, have traveled in Europe, and the touristic and gastronomical photographs have been gathered in a book entitled « Les Cent Sites Remarquables du Goût » (Éditions Albin Michel). |

My photographs of the artist’s studios from the nineties have been acquired by Centre Georges Pompidou. The passage to digital gave me a new appreciation of my images. This virtual world attracts me for long hours, and it seems to me that I have found a new language to describe an imaginary reality. The traditional images gives to photo-journalists a lot of emotions, they are objective evidences. At my dark room, nothing is comparable to the fresh black and white print, that I just « cooked » : the depth of the blacks, the velvety of the greys, the contrasts, i.e. when « the decisive moment » takes again its existence. |
